Building Businesses: SBA 504 Green Program
The Small Business Administration (SBA) has a powerful business enablement tool known as the 504 loan. There is a subset of this loan whereby borrowers can significantly increase their borrowing capacity by adding certain on-site power generation (i.e. solar) to new and acquired locations. This program recently underwent a major update removing the previous $16 million cap for borrowers. This program change will enable a significant amount of investment in small businesses in the near future.
Optimus Energy Solutions’ President Ben Pauluhn recently had an article on the SBA 504 loan program published by the Orlando Business Journal detailing the benefits of the 504 loan program. Between the drafting of our article and its publication, the SBA updated the rules to truly make this a game-changing program. Any small business owner seeking to expand, relocate or grow in new markets should explore this option.
Climate First Bank, the Florida Business Development Corporation, and Georgia Small Business Capital are just a few great providers offering resources that are helping to grow American businesses.
